A chain reaction is defined as “A series of events in which each induces or influences the next” and Jair Karfield's composition lives up to that definition.
“Fission” is a faced paced opener with challenging rhythms and mixed meters. A rocking drum groove in the middle of the song is followed by a lilting flute solo.
“Suspended Animation” begins with another flute solo that builds as more instruments add in and then fade out again.
“Fusion” returns to the use of mixed meters reminiscent of the opener and drives all the way to a rousing conclusion.
“Chain Reaction” is a fitting composition for bands seeking a bit of a challenge with the comfort of parts overlapping in different instruments.
“Expect a positive reaction from your audience when you perform “Chain Reaction”!”
